Lindelani Makuya

Dr Makuya has a Master's degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from the University of Pretoria and a PhD in Zoology/Animal Biology from the University of the Witwatersrand. She is also a Visiting Researcher at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Dr Makuya is a behavioural ecologist interested in social evolution, especially the adaptive value of solitary living in mammals, for which she started a long-term project on the bush Karoo rat.
Dr Makuya wants to understand mammalian social evolution and to contribute to the conservation of the many solitary mammalian species.
