UAE: Indian Driver Among Five Expats To Win Dh100,000 Each With Big Ticket Draw

Five expats took away the Dh100,000 prize with Big Ticket during its second weekly e-draw, bringing December's total prize pool so far to Dh1,000,000.

Among the winners was 57-year-old driver Basheer Kaipurath, an Indian expat who has been calling Dubai his home since the past 25 years.

Hailing from Kerala, Basheer has been playing Big Ticket's weekly E-Draw for more than two years, purchasing tickets regularly every month.

“I was so happy when I realized I won,” he said after the win. Basheer plans to use a portion of his prize to support his family back home in India, while also continuing buying tickets, hopeful for more wins in the future. For Basheer, the prize is a reward for his dedication and a reminder that patience and perseverance can bring life-changing surprises.

Another winner, Vinayaga Moorthy, an Indian expat, was the first winner in this week's draw and has been participating for over a year, playing as part of a group with three friends. After consistently taking part, his efforts paid off with a winning call that initially left him wondering.

Once the news was confirmed, the excitement quickly set in. Delighted by the win, Vinayaga recalled the moment as a pleasant surprise.

Sobaraj Kha Rafiq Kha, a 33-year-old Bangladeshi expat living in Al Ain since 15 years, has been trying his luck for over a year with the weekly draw. Joined by a group of 20 friends, his persistence finally paid off when he won Dh100,000 this week.

“Thank God, I really needed this,” he said, beaming with joy upon hearing the news. For Sobhraj, the win is not just about the money, it's a reminder to never give up.“Even if you're not playing alone, do it with friends. You never know when luck will find you,” he shared.

Another winner, Minnaleswaran Sakthi Vinayagam Sakthi Vinayagam, a 40-year-old accommodation in-charge from Chennai, India, has called Dubai home for the past 20 years.

For the past four to five years, he has been playing every month, when he finally won Dh100,000 this week.

“When I got the winning call, I was so, so happy,” he shared, still thrilled by the news. Although he hasn't made any concrete plans for his prize yet, Minnaleswaran is already imagining the possibilities and is determined to keep trying his luck.“I will definitely keep buying more tickets,” he said with a smile, excited for what the future may hold.

The final winner, Mohammed Javeed Rajbhary, a 45-year-old IT manager from India, has been living in the UAE for 19 years. He spent eight years in Dubai before moving to Ras Al Khaimah.

While his family initially lived with him in the UAE, they have since returned to India due to job uncertainty.

He has been purchasing Big Ticket for six to seven years, starting off occasionally before becoming more active over time, especially during promotional periods. He participates on his own and this win is his first.“I feel really blessed,” he said with a chuckle, recalling the moment he received the call.“At first, I thought it was a prank. But when I checked the Big Ticket YouTube channel, I realised it was real.”

When asked about his plans for the prize, he shared that he is considering starting a mutual fund with his wife, while also setting aside part of the winnings for charity and to support his mother.

While the details are still being finalised, he says these are his priorities for now. Encouraging others to keep trying, he added:“Just give it a try, it's all about luck. Sometimes your chance will come.”

December prizes

Big Ticket has put up a grand prize of Dh30 million up for grabs this year, which will be revealed during the live draw on January 3.

On the same night, five lucky participants will each take home Dh50,000 as consolation prizes. As December continues, anticipation is building for three more weekly E-Draws, with a total prize pool of Dh1,500,000. Each week, five winners will walk away with Dh100,000 each.

Those who purchase two or more cash tickets in a single transaction between December 1 and 24 will be automatically entered into The Big Win Contest. Four participants will be selected to join the January 3 live draw, each guaranteed a prize between Dh50,000 and Dh150,000. The names will be announced on January 1 on the official website.

Additionally, the Dream Car Series is set to continue into 2026, starting with a BMW 430i in the January 3 draw, followed by a BMW X5 on February 3.
