Russia Says It Took Control of Another Two Ukrainian Settlements

(MENAFN) Russia announced the capture of two additional Ukrainian settlements on Saturday as fighting intensifies across eastern front lines.

Moscow's Defense Ministry reported that military units have seized control of strategic positions in contested territory. The Sever (North) forces now occupy Vysoke in the Sumy region, according to official statements, while the Tsentr (Center) forces have taken Svitle in the Donetsk region.

In a separate development, Ukraine's Security Service asserted that overnight drone operations successfully targeted Russian military assets far from the battlefield. The strikes allegedly damaged two Su-27 fighter jets alongside multiple naval vessels stationed in the Caspian Sea.

Confirmation of battlefield claims from either side remains difficult amid the ongoing war, with independent verification proving challenging due to access restrictions and active combat conditions.
