Watch: First Peek Behind The Scenes Of Dubai's NYE Performances Reveals Dances, Massive Props

Excitement is in the air in Dubai, with two weeks to go for New Year's Eve (NYE). While the city has much to offer to residents and tourists at any moment, this last hurrah of the year is particularly spectacular, with jaw-dropping events, performances and the Burj Khalifa fireworks drawing eyes from all over the world.

As we reach the end of the year, NYE event preparations are in full swing. This year, Dubai is set to put on a spectacle larger than ever, with a whole eight days of celebrations planned. Emaar earlier announced that the festivities will start on December 31 in around the Burj Khalifa and will continue until January 7.

While tickets are required to watch live performances and obtain front-row seats to fireworks, light and laser shows, wider Downtown Dubai celebrations will be free and open to all.

In a video on X on Sunday, December 14, Mohammed Alabbar, the founder of Emaar - which organises the New Year's festivities around the Burj Khalifa every year - shared a peek of the behind-the-scenes action ramping up to the event. From performers dancing their hearts out to larger-than-life props, the video showed a glimpse into the celebrations to come.

Drummers stood in a circle, rhythmically beating their instruments, while dancers put their game faces on. The moved across the space with sweeping contemporary moves. Performers carried a massive prop camel and a bird, lending an air of mystery and awe to the rehearsal. One dancer performed an impressive set of moves where he spun on his head, completely upside down.

Even in this short clip, one can sense the large scale of the upcoming performance.

Watching the serious performers in their causal clothes in a well-lit rehearsal studio, one cannot help but wonder what the full effect would be with the costumes, venue and exciting atmosphere of New Year's Eve.
