Ukrainian Forces Reverse Situation Near Kupiansk Trehubov
According to Trehubov, Kupiansk has long held symbolic importance in Russian propaganda narratives. Russian commanders tried to portray the situation as a story of victory, and in early November even issued statements falsely claiming the city had been captured and Ukrainian units encircled.
"Putin began telling stories that Kupiansk had already been taken, but this did not correspond to reality in any way. At that moment, the situation was moving in the exact opposite direction," he emphasized.
Trehubov said that Ukrainian forces managed to push the Russians into the northern areas, cut their supply lines, and systematically destroy enemy units. While Moscow was declaring successes, a trap was forming for Russian troops on the battlefield.
He also stressed that the enemy is unable to effectively transfer reinforcements to the Kupiansk area.
"A highly effective kill zone was created around the city, allowing us to eliminate anyone trying to crawl forward using drones. No matter how many reinforcements they bring, they still have to cross open terrain, and the drone does not care how many of them are crawling," Trehubov explained.
