Doha, Qatar: Twenty falconers have successfully qualified for the finals of the Al-Da'aw competition across two categories:“Young Peregrine Falcon” and“Adult Peregrine Falcon,” with ten falconers competing in each category. The event was held last morning as part of the Katara Falconry and Hunting Festival 2025, which will continue until Dec 6 at the Marmi Sabkha in Sealine.

The finalists for the“Young Peregrine Falcon” competition include: Jassim Fahad Al-Kuwari, Mohammed Rashid Al-Nuaimi, Muhanna Mohammed Al-Dosari (3 falcons), Sultan Hamad Al-Humaidi, Abdulmohsen Mohammed Al-Marri (2 falcons), Mohammed Khabab Al-Nuaimi, and Abdullah Amer Al-Kaabi.

Jassim Fahad Al-Kuwari's falcon, which led the qualifiers, recorded a time of 19.125 seconds.

The finalists for the“Adult Peregrine Falcon” competition are: The participants in the Shaheen competition included: Abdullah Saeed Al-Marri (3 falcons), Mohammed Khabab Al-Nuaimi (2 falcons), Abdullah Amer Al-Kaabi (2 falcons), Ali Salem Aba Al-Zamat, Hassan Abdullah Al-Kubaisi, and Abdulmohsen Mohammed Al-Marri.

Abdullah Saeed Al-Marri's falcon, which excelled in the qualifying rounds, achieved a time of 18.394 seconds.

In addition, the organizing committee of the second Katara Falconry and Hunting Championship announced the postponement of the final round of the Al-Tala'a competition to Friday morning, December 5, due to adverse weather conditions.

The final round of the Al-Da'aw competition will be held today, in the following categories: Gyrfalcon (adult), locally produced Saker Falcon (young), and locally produced Peregrine Falcon (young, young Gyrfalcon, young Gyrfalcon-Peregrine hybrid, young Gyrfalcon-Peregrine hybrid).

The second edition of the Katara Falconry and Hunting Championship 2025 is characterized by distinct competitions for each falcon category, with each category having its own designated round.
