(MENAFN- UkrinForm) As reported by Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Telegram.

“Units of Ukraine's Defense Forces continue defensive operations in challenging areas of the front, in particular in Pokrovsk, Vovchansk, and Kupiansk. The triumphant statements by the leadership of the aggressor state about the 'capture' of these settlements by Russian forces are not true. This is merely another attempt by the Kremlin to use a filmed 'flag-planting' stunt for propaganda purposes to influence participants in international negotiations,” the statement says.

According to the General Staff, in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, the Ukraine's Defense Forces are holding the northern part of the town along the railway line. Search-and-assault actions continue to eliminate enemy pockets. The enemy is suffering significant losses.

“Over the past 24 hours on the Pokrovsk axis, Ukrainian soldiers have neutralized a total of 104 occupiers. Our units have already cleared out the group that, under the cover of fog, raised the Russian tricolor in one of the town's districts,” the General Staff reported.

The press service also emphasized that Ukraine's Defense Forces are organizing additional logistics routes in the areas of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad to supply everything necessary to our positions.

In addition, it is noted that in Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, the situation remains tense. The enemy continues attempts to advance in the settlement, using small infantry groups, attack UAVs, and artillery. However, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold their positions firmly.

The General Staff stressed that the Russians' demonstration missions with“flag-planting” mean only one thing for the invaders – they will be destroyed by Ukraine's Defense Forces.

As reported by Ukrinform, 226 combat engagements between Ukraine's Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded on the front line on December 1. On the Pokrovsk axis, Ukrainian troops repelled 72 enemy assaults.
