Poland Initiates European Arrest Warrant For Two Ukrainians Involved In Railway Sabotage
“The prosecutor has filed a motion with the Warsaw District Court for a European arrest warrant for Yevgenii Ivanov and Oleksandr Kononov, who are suspected of committing acts of sabotage against the railway infrastructure in mid-November,” Novak wrote.
As reported by the agency, Poland had previously issued a warrant for the arrest of two Ukrainian citizens, 41-year-old Yevgenii Ivanov and 39-year-old Oleksandr Kononov, in connection with the sabotage of the Polish railway.
The Warsaw court granted the prosecutor's request and ordered the arrest for 60 days of two Ukrainian citizens suspected of committing sabotage on the railway in Poland. The decision will take effect after the arrest of both suspects, who fled to Belarus.
The Polish prosecutor's office has charged two Ukrainian citizens, 39-year-old Oleksandr K. and 41-year-old Yevhen I., with sabotage on the railway in Poland.
Polish special services detained four people who may have been involved in terrorist attacks on the Polish railway, three of whom were released after questioning.
