Road Closures and Traffic Diversions in Aqaba Ahead of the Ayla Red Sea Half Marathon


(MENAFN- Yahoo) Amman, Aqaba) – In preparation for the Ayla Red Sea Half Marathon, taking place on Friday, December 5, 2025, Run Jordan, in coordination with the Traffic Department, has finalized the official traffic plan. The plan includes road closures, traffic diversions, and alternative routes to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow, working closely with the Public Security Directorate and Aqaba’s traffic authorities.
The event brings together runners from Jordan and across the globe, promoting healthy lifestyles, community spirit, and teamwork for all age groups.
Traffic personnel will be present throughout the event to assist citizens, guide them along alternative routes, and minimize any disruptions along the race course.
Full road closures on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM:
•Al-Farouq Street: Both directions, from its starting point near Airport Street to its end at the intersection with Al Istiklal Street.
•All side streets and openings leading to Al-Farouq Street.
•Al Istiklal Street: Up to the Intercontinental Roundabout, including the roundabout.
•Hotels Street: From the Intercontinental Hotel to McDonald’s Roundabout.
•McDonald’s Roundabout: One-way towards The Arab Revolt Square.
Alternative routes available during the race:
•Governorate Street
•McDonald’s Roundabout (one-way) from the Mövenpick Hotel towards Al Istiklal Street
•Al Istiklal Street: Up to Al-Mahdood traffic lights, turning right towards Al-Mahdood Roundabout
•Al-Hammamat Al-Tunisiyah Street
•ASEZA Street leading to the airport
•Internal streets of the Al-Mahdood Central Area
