Dubai Police Major calls on all motorists to strictly follow traffic regulations and instructions during the 54th Eid Al Etihad.

Al Mazroui also advised travellers to plan ahead, leave for the airport early, and consider alternative routes to avoid congestion, especially near Dubai Airports, during the celebrations. Priority, he said, should be given to travellers departing and arriving during the holiday period.

The senior officer reminded drivers to adhere to Union Day celebration guidelines, including:

. No use of spray paint by drivers, passengers, or pedestrians.

. No covering or obscuring of licence plates.

. No inappropriate stickers or slogans on vehicles.

. No changing of vehicle color or overloading.

. No leaning out of windows or sunroofs.

. No covering of windows with stickers or sunshades.

He also stressed that parades or random gatherings, stunts on roads, and raising flags other than the UAE national flag are strictly prohibited. Drivers must also avoid using vehicles that emit loud noises, play music at high volume, or use sirens without authorisation.

Violating vehicles, he warned, will face fines and impoundment, with only the UAE flag and official Union Day stickers allowed.

Al Mazroui said that National Day is a cherished occasion that brings the community together and should not be marred by reckless driving or traffic violations that could lead to accidents and spoil the festive spirit. He emphasised that Union Day is a symbol of pride, unity, and belonging - and that joy should be expressed responsibly, reflecting the UAE's civilised image.
