Media Addresses Trump’s DOGE

(MENAFN) The US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has been quietly dissolved nearly eight months earlier than planned, according to a report from a news agency.

The agency, initially promoted with great fanfare by US President Donald Trump shortly after he assumed office in January, was introduced as an expansive initiative aimed at cutting federal waste and red tape.

Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk had been appointed as the administration’s efficiency leader.

Many of DOGE’s responsibilities have since been taken over by the US Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the government’s primary human-resources division, the news agency indicated, referencing comments from Director Scott Kupor.

When questioned about the agency’s current state, he is said to have responded: “That doesn’t exist.” Kupor also remarked that the department no longer functions as a “centralized entity,” as the outlet reported.

According to the coverage, core DOGE staff members have now been integrated into various other branches of the US government.

Speculation about DOGE’s fate began surfacing in June following a dramatic dispute between Musk and Trump concerning the president’s hallmark “big, beautiful bill.”

The Tesla chief subsequently resigned from his leadership role at DOGE and departed Washington as tensions escalated.
