Zelensky On Peace Plan: US Proposals May Include Several Of Ukraine's Key Demands

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"The Ukrainian delegation is working in Geneva today, focused on finding doable solutions to end the war, restore peace, and guarantee lasting security. There have already been brief reports from our delegation members about the outcomes of their first meetings and talks. Currently, there is an understanding that the American proposals may include a number of elements based on Ukrainian perspectives and critical for Ukrainian national interests. Further work is ongoing to make all elements truly effective in achieving the main goal anticipated by our people: to finally put an end to the bloodshed and war," Zelensky said.

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak earlier said he had held an initial meeting in Geneva with national security advisers to the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany: Jonathan Powell, Emmanuel Bonne, and Guenter Sautter.

The next meeting will be with the U.S. delegation.

A series of meetings in various formats is scheduled for Sunday, November 23.

Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov said that consultations between senior Ukrainian and U.S. officials on possible parameters of a future peace agreement would begin in the coming days.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree establishing a Ukrainian delegation to take part in negotiations with the United States and other international partners, as well as with representatives of the Russian Federation, on achieving a just and lasting peace. The delegation is led by Yermak.

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed on November 21 that his administration had set next Thursday as the deadline for Ukraine to agree to the White House's plan to end Russia's war.

Earlier, U.S. media reported that the Trump administration had held secret consultations with the Kremlin to develop a new plan to stop the war in Ukraine.

Axios reported that the plan consists of 28 points and is divided into four broad categories: peace in Ukraine, security guarantees, security in Europe, and the future of U.S. relations with Russia and Ukraine.

After his conversation with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday, November 21, that Ukraine, the United States, and Europe would work at the advisers' level to ensure that the path to peace becomes truly workable.
