Municipality Ministry Rolls Out New Online System For Reclaiming Abandoned Vehicles


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Ministry of Municipality (MoM) announced Sunday the launch of a fully online abandoned vehicle reclamation service via its official website and "Oun" app, as part of efforts to streamline procedures and expedite requests without requiring visits to service centers.
A statement by MoM clarified that the service allows individuals and companies to reclaim vehicles that have been towed within the designated reclamation period of three months from the date the vehicle entered the impound lot, using a fully integrated digital system that facilitates procedures and saves time and effort for beneficiaries. The ministry further illustrated that the steps of benefiting from this service include accessing the website and logging on via the National Authentication System (NAS) and choosing the abandoned vehicle reclamation service.
Upon accessing the system, beneficiaries are requested to fill out the required data, review the terms and conditions, and pay the fees online, the statement highlighted, indicating that following the completion of these procedures, they will receive a notification requesting them to reach out to the vehicle impound lot to receive the vehicle. Accordingly, the ministry urged the public to capitalize on this advanced digital service, emphasizing that it continues to upgrade smart solutions that enhance service quality and streamline transactions in a more secure, prompt, and reliable way.
The move is part of MoM's efforts to foster digital transformation and upgrade field services in alignment with its strategic objectives and Qatar National Vision 2030. Overall, the service offers an array of merits, mostly procedure simplification and automation, as well as user experience optimization, in addition to providing a self-service merit anywhere and at any time. It likewise supports the efficiency of field work, improves coordination among the competent authorities, and fosters digital transformation for services.
