(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, Nov 20 (KUNA) -- Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jasem Al-Budaiwi expressed strong condemnation of the serious escalation of the provocative acts by the Israeli occupation authorities and their infringement on the sovereignty and territorial safety of the Syrian Arab Republic.
The recent visit by the prime minister of the Israeli occupation to a borders area in southern Syria represents an unacceptable violation of the international laws, Al-Budaiwi said in a press release on Thursday.
He urged the international community to step in urgently and stop the repeated encroachments of the Israeli occupation on Syria, which risk pushing the region into more tensions and violence.
The protection of Syria's unity and sovereignty is crucial to regional and international security and stability in consistency with the rules of the international laws and UN Charter, Al-Budaiwi added. (end)
