School Building Reconstructed With Community Funding In Ghor

FIROZKOH (Pajhwok): The building for historic Yakhan School in Tiora district of western Ghor province has been reconstructed at a cost of two million afghanis funded entirely by local residents.

According to a statement, Yakhan school is one of the largest and oldest schools in Tiora district, established in 1957, but its building remained incomplete for years and has now been reconstructed with support from local donors.

It said the reconstruction cost amounted to two million afghanis, of which one million was contributed by Haji Nooruddin Turabi, head of the Natural Disaster Authority, and the remaining one million by local residents.

“The building of Yakhan High School in Tiora district has been completed with financial support of Haji Nooruddin Turabi and community members, and was inaugurated in the presence of officials and residents,” the department added.

Residents of Tiora district expressed appreciation for the donors, saying reconstruction of the school has solved major problems faced by students.
