X CAT Powerboat Championship 2Nd Round Kicks Off In Kuwait

KUWAIT, Nov 20 (KUNA) -- The second round of the 2025 XCAT World Powerboat Championship kicked off Thursday in Kuwait, which is hosting the event until November 22. The championship is organized by the Kuwait Sea Sports Club.
Chairman of the Powerboats and Wakeboard Committee at the Sea Sports Club and Director of the Championship Ali Al-Shammali said that the round consists of two races, featuring competition among 12 boats from various countries on Marina Waves Beach.
The competitors began with official practice sessions, followed by a pole-position race to determine the starting lineup, after which the first race (Race 1) was held, he added.
He stated that the Emirati boat "7 Victory" claimed first place in Race 1, while the Kuwaiti boat "17 Mutheer" finished second, and the British boat "8" came in third.
Al-Shammali invited fans of powerboat racing and all marine-sports enthusiasts to attend and enjoy the activities and distinguished races, especially with the participation of a group of world-class champions.
He noted that one final third round remains in the championship, scheduled to be held on December 12 in Dubai. (end)
