(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 19. Plenitude, the energy transition arm of Italy's Eni, said it has agreed to acquire a 760-megawatt portfolio of operating renewable assets from French developer Neoen, marking one of the largest clean-energy deals in France in recent years, Trend reports.

The package includes 37 solar plants, 14 wind farms, and one battery storage facility spread across France, with an annual output of around 1.1 terawatt-hours. The transaction, which requires regulatory approval, strengthens Plenitude's position in one of Europe's most competitive power markets.

Plenitude said the deal supports its 2025–2028 strategy, which targets 10 gigawatts of installed renewables by 2028. Integrating the new assets with its existing French operations is expected to deliver operational synergies and help accelerate growth.

“The acquisition expands our presence in France, where we already serve around 1 million retail customers,” CEO Stefano Goberti said.“Through this operation, we strengthen our integrated business model and advance toward our strategic objectives.”

Plenitude, fully controlled by Eni, supplies energy to about 10 million customers across Europe and aims to surpass 11 million by 2028 and reach 15 million by 2030.
