(MENAFN- Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA)) São Paulo – Brazilian planemaker Embraer has signed two memoranda of understanding with companies based in the United Arab Emirates to expand support and defense opportunities in the Middle East. The agreements were signed with Advanced Military Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Center (AMMROC) and Global Aerospace Logistics (GAL), according to Embraer.

The company says the memoranda aim to explore joint opportunities for the development and support of the aerospace and defense sectors, with a special focus on maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services and on training for the KC-390 Millennium military aircraft. They will enable a broader range of collaborative defense and support activities.

Embraer manufactures aircraft for commercial and executive aviation, defense and security, and agricultural customers, and provides after-sales services and support through a global network of in-house units and authorized agents. In the coming months, Embraer, AMMROC, and GAL will deepen discussions and develop a work plan for projects that draw on their respective expertise and capabilities. In addition to MRO, the collaboration may extend to after-sales support, logistics, training, and repair services.

Based in Al Ain, AMMROC is a leading provider of MRO services for military and commercial aviation. Abu Dhabi–based GAL supplies integrated aerospace and defense services and is the primary service provider for the UAE Ministry of Defense, with multiple maintenance and service contracts across the region.

From Monday (17) through November 21, Embraer is taking part in the UAE's Dubai Airshow. In recent days, the company has made several sales announcements, including a new firm order for three E195-E2 jets-with additional purchase rights for five more aircraft-from Switzerland's Helvetic Airways, and another from Air Côte d'Ivoire, the national airline of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, for a firm order of four E175 aircraft, with purchase rights for eight additional units.
