India Arrests Suspect In Deadly Delhi Car Bombing

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) India's National Investigation Agency has arrested Amir Rashid Ali, a Kashmir resident, for allegedly aiding a suicide bombing at Delhi's Red Fort that killed eight.

India's National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Amir Rashid Ali, a Kashmir resident, for allegedly conspiring with suicide bomber Umar Un Nabi in the deadly car explosion outside Delhi's historic Red Fort.

Officials said Ali had come to Delhi to help purchase the car later used as a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device in the November 10 attack. He has been remanded to 10-day custody of the NIA, which confirmed that the car was registered in his name and linked to the bombing.

Investigators said forensic tests confirmed Umar Un Nabi as the driver of the vehicle, and high-powered explosives, including ammonium nitrate and TATP, were found, suggesting a sophisticated terror plot. The agency also seized a second vehicle owned by Umar Nabi for further analysis.

The NIA has questioned 73 witnesses, including many of those wounded in the blast. Authorities have treated the case as part of a broader terror module allegedly operating out of Kashmir.

Home Minister Amit Shah described the attack as a“terror incident” and pledged that all involved would be brought to justice. Security analysts warn the arrest underscores concerns over radicalised recruitment networks and increasingly bold terror modules in the region.

Analysts also say the attack may trigger tighter security measures at sensitive heritage sites in New Delhi and escalate pressure on law enforcement to dismantle militant networks.

The arrest represents a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into one of Delhi's deadliest attacks in recent years.

Authorities have vowed to continue pursuing all individuals connected to the attack to prevent further incidents and maintain public safety.
