Germany acknowledges numerous wanted neo-Nazis still at large

(MENAFN) The German government has confirmed that 714 neo-Nazis remain free across the country, despite active arrest warrants, according to reports.

The figures were disclosed in response to a parliamentary inquiry by the opposition Left Party, the reports said. Of those wanted, 115 are currently abroad, including 20 in Poland and 13 in Austria. At least 39 of these individuals are wanted for violent offenses.

Left Party domestic policy expert Clara Bunger criticized the authorities, stating: "The number of outstanding arrest warrants against right-wing extremists has remained at an alarmingly high level for years. The authorities can no longer stand idly by; they must prioritize this problem."

Right-wing extremist crimes in Germany reached record levels last year, with the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) reporting 42,788 offenses in 2024 — nearly 50% higher than the previous year, marking the highest figures since data collection began in 2001.
