Kuwait's U-17 Taekwondo Team Wins Three Bronze Medals At Qatar Int'l Tourney

DOHA, Nov 16 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Taekwondo team won three bronze medals in the U-17 youth category at the 5th Qatar International Taekwondo Championship.
Khalid Hanif and Yousef Al-Shammari each won a bronze medal in the under-59 kg and under-63 kg weight categories respectively, at the championship, which began on Friday.
Fares Al-Shammari also won a bronze medal in the under-73 kg weight category after competing against athletes from various countries.
On this occasion, the Kuwaiti team's Coach, Walid Al-Marshad, told KUNA that participating in such international events contributes to gaining experience.
Al-Marshad expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the championship in Qatar for their excellent organization and hospitality.
The fifth Qatar International Taekwondo Championship, organized by the Qatar Taekwondo, Judo and Karate Federation, concludes Monday, at the Lusail Hall, with 1,021 players from 48 countries participating, distributed across four categories: cadets, juniors, youth, and seniors. (end)
