HBMSU Reimagines The Future Of Quality In The Digital Era During World Quality Week 2025

As part of its participation in World Quality Week 2025, held under the global theme“Quality: Think Differently,” Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) hosted a thought-provoking virtual event titled“AI and the Future of Quality: Insights from Experts.” The event embodied HBMSU's commitment to redefining the concept of quality in line with the accelerating transformations of digital era. The event opened with a keynote address by Prof. Jamal Abu Rashed, Dean of the School of Business and Quality Management at HBMSU, titled“Leading Quality in the Digital World: HBMSU's Vision for the Future.” Prof. Abu Rashed highlighted the University's regional leadership in quality education and its commitment to learner-centred smart education models, continuous improvement, and the effective use of technology as strategic pillars. He emphasized the need to develop future-ready quality leaders who think with agility, rely on data-driven decision-making, and view quality as a dynamic, sustainable mindset rather than a procedural framework. Following the keynote, a panel discussion titled“How Transformative Technologies Are Rewriting the Rules of Quality” brought together experts and practitioners in the fields of quality and innovation. Panellists examined the impact of transformative technologies- including AI, automation, the Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain - in shaping the education, government, and industry sectors. They underscored that conscious and informed leadership is essential for driving organizational change and achieving sustainable excellence. Commenting on the event, Prof. Jamal Abu Rashed stated:“At HBMSU, we view quality as a forward-looking and dynamic philosophy. Transformative technologies are not just tools - they are catalysts for redefining how excellence is envisioned, measured, and achieved. Through initiatives like this, we aim to empower learners and partners to lead impactful transformations across industries.” The event concluded with a call-to-action encouraging professionals and academics to rethink quality through innovative, proactive, and adaptable leadership models that meet the demands of the digital age.
