Syrian FM hold talks with UK investors to boost economic ties

(MENAFN) Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani met with British investors on Friday in London to explore ways to enhance economic cooperation, according to statements from the Syrian Foreign Ministry.

The discussions, part of Shaibani’s ongoing visit to the UK, focused on potential projects and partnerships aimed at supporting Syria’s development and investment opportunities. Shaibani emphasized that the Syrian government “is committed to creating an investment-friendly environment that benefits both sides.”

The visit also coincides with the reopening of Syria’s embassy in London after 13 years of closure, as announced by Shaibani on his social media account. This outreach is part of the new Syrian administration’s efforts to end the country’s international isolation, following the departure of former leader Bashar al-Assad and the establishment of a transitional government under President Ahmad al-Sharaa.
