Bollywood legend Dharmendra is alive and recovering, his wife Hema Malini and daughter Esha Deol confirmed on Tuesday, dismissing widespread media reports of his death. Esha Deol wrote on Instagram that her father's condition is“stable and improving,” urging fans not to believe false news.

The family has requested the media and public to respect their privacy while Dharmendra continues to receive treatment. According to reports, the 88-year-old actor was admitted to a Mumbai hospital on Monday after experiencing breathing difficulties.

Earlier in the day, several major Indian outlets, including The Times of India and India Today, mistakenly reported that the veteran star had passed away, prompting confusion among fans and tributes on social media.

Dharmendra, one of Bollywood's most celebrated actors, began his film career in 1960 with Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere and went on to deliver classics such as Phool Aur Patthar and Aayi Din Bahar Ke. Known for his charm and screen presence, he was named among the world's most handsome men by several international publications in the 1970s.
