Israeli Forces Arrest Twelve Palestinians in Occupied West Bank

(MENAFN) Israeli military forces apprehended 12 Palestinians during overnight operations spanning the occupied West Bank on Sunday, local sources confirmed.

In the southern West Bank region, military personnel detained three young Palestinians in Hebron and two others in Bethlehem following home invasions and searches, a Palestinian news agency reported.

Israeli troops also arrested three more Palestinians in Ramallah in the central West Bank, local sources told media.

Northern territories saw two additional Palestinians taken into custody at Al-Ain refugee camp in Nablus, while two others were seized in eastern Qalqilya after physical assault by Israeli soldiers, the sources said.

The Commission of Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners Society report that Israel has arrested more than 20,000 Palestinians since October 2023, while over 9,100 remain detained, in addition to hundreds held in military camps.

Violence from Israeli military forces and illegal settler groups across the occupied West Bank has resulted in 1,069 Palestinian deaths and over 10,300 injuries during the same timeframe.

Last July, the International Court of Justice issued a historic ruling declaring Israel's occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and demanded the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
