China Urges Europe to Press Netherlands on Nexperia Issues
(MENAFN) China has expressed appreciation for the European side's ongoing attempts to use its influence to encourage the Netherlands to "correct its wrongdoing" concerning matters related to Nexperia as soon as possible, according to a spokesperson from the Ministry of Commerce on Sunday.
The spokesperson made these comments in response to a recent post by European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maros Sefcovic on his personal social media account, which addressed issues connected to Nexperia, an overseas branch of Chinese firm Wingtech.
China emphasized that the primary cause and responsibility for the current interruptions in the global semiconductor supply chain rest with the Dutch authorities.
The spokesperson stated that China hopes the European side will step up its efforts to urge the Netherlands to rescind measures affecting Nexperia and to guarantee the uninterrupted supply of products related to the company.
In a further statement, the spokesperson highlighted that, in the interest of maintaining a responsible approach toward the security and stability of the global semiconductor supply chain, China has implemented practical measures to allow exemptions for compliant exports designated for civilian purposes.
