Eight Go Missing After Boat Collision in East China


(MENAFN) Eight individuals went missing after a merchant vessel struck a fishing boat off the coast of east China's Shandong Province on Sunday morning, according to local maritime authorities.

The incident took place at approximately 5 a.m. near Weihai City, resulting in the fishing boat sinking.

Reports stated that nine people were aboard, and rescuers managed to save one individual, who is reported to be in stable condition.

Both ships and helicopters have been dispatched to locate the remaining eight, and search-and-rescue operations are ongoing.
