Israeli settler violence leaves several Palestinians wounded

(MENAFN) Eight Palestinians were reportedly injured on Sunday during assaults by illegal Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

In the Al-Arara Bedouin community north of East Jerusalem, settlers attacked residents with stones and sticks, injuring seven people. The assailants also burned container homes and caused significant property damage. Local rights groups warned that “the continuation of these violations poses a direct threat to the stability of the people and their presence on their lands and paves the way for forced displacement.”

In southern Hebron’s Umm al-Khair village, settlers targeted Palestinians working on their farmland, leaving one young man hospitalized with facial and head injuries.

Since October 2023, attacks by Israeli forces and settlers have intensified across the West Bank, reportedly killing over 1,069 Palestinians and injuring more than 10,300. The official Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission documented 766 assaults against Palestinians, their homes, and livelihoods in October alone.

In a landmark ruling last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories illegal and called for the removal of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
