Quantum Computing Set to Revolutionize Industries
(MENAFN) Quantum computers are anticipated to reach commercial availability in the 2030s, propelled by rapid technological progress, including Google’s Willow processor, which a Turkish industry expert described as a “promising turning point in the scientific world.”
Murat Canturk, CEO of Turkish cloud infrastructure company ComPro, told a news agency that quantum technology will fundamentally transform various sectors by tackling problems that traditional computers cannot solve.
He highlighted that quantum computing relies on principles such as superposition and quantum entanglement, enabling applications in areas like fluid dynamics, pharmaceutical research, and next-generation materials.
Canturk emphasized that quantum systems have the capability to carry out calculations in minutes that would take conventional computers billions of years to complete.
“In aviation, quantum computers will enable the design of complex airflow models with perfect accuracy, from wing profiles to body aerodynamics, and it will reduce the time needed to design aircraft from years to months, while in smart drug and innovative material design, they will accelerate the discovery of new drugs and next-generation materials by modeling molecular interactions at the atomic level,” he explained.
He noted that aviation and defense industries are likely to be the earliest beneficiaries. “Aerodynamic optimization, fuel efficiency calculations, and turbulence models will see a breakthrough, while the health care sector will see protein folding simulations and smart drug molecules.”
Canturk also pointed out that quantum computing will transform data security. “In crypto security, quantum computing will enable quantum-resistant encryption algorithms to make it so that existing encryption keys can’t be decrypted,” he said.
