Drones Attack Energy Infrastructure In Two Russian Cities

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andrii Kovalenko, reported this on Telegram.

“The CHP in the Russian city of Oryol is in very bad shape right now,” he noted.

During the night of November 5, drones attacked infrastructure facilities in two regional centers of Russia - Oryol and Vladimir, Radio Liberty reported, citing the Telegram channel Astra and the governors of these regions.

In Oryol, local authorities reported an attack by jet-powered drones, according to the Russian BBC Service.

The outlet quoted the Governor of the Oryol Region, Andrey Klychkov, who claimed that two jet-powered drones had allegedly been shot down over the city on the night of Wednesday. According to him, the attack damaged seven private households and windows in one apartment building. There were no casualties as a result of the UAV strike, he added.

Meanwhile, an analysis by the Astra Telegram channel based on open-source data indicated that the explosions in Oryol occurred in the area of the city's combined heat and power plant.

It is noted that the two videos recorded by residents capturing the explosions were filmed approximately 1.5 and 1.2 kilometers, respectively, from the CHP.

At the same time, residents claim that the attack was carried out using missiles. This view is shared by Astra's analyst, who believes that the strike on the CHP was delivered by a missile or a jet-powered drone.

Less than one kilometer from the Oryol CHP is the defense enterprise Oreltekhnmash, which manufactures mobile maintenance, repair, and evacuation vehicles for the military.

The Oryol CHP is the largest source of electricity and heat generation in the region, providing both electric power and heat supply.

“The energy infrastructure in the suburbs of Vladimir was attacked by drones. Specialists are working on the site. The elimination of the consequences will begin with daylight. Please remain calm. All life-support systems are operating normally,” stated the Governor of the Vladimir Region, Aleksandr Avdeev.

According to Astra, on the night of November 5, a CHP plant in Oryol was attacked. This is evidenced by videos and eyewitness reports.

The Governor of the Rostov Region, Yuri Slyusar, claimed that UAVs were allegedly intercepted in four districts of the region.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported the alleged destruction of 40 fixed-wing drones during the night.

According to the aggressor state's defense ministry, the drones were allegedly shot down over the Voronezh, Rostov, Kursk, Bryansk, Belgorod, and Oryol regions of Russia, as well as over temporarily occupied Crimea.
