Municipality Ministry Developing Integrated And Supportive Agricultural Ecosystem

Doha: As part of the Ministry of Municipality's commitment to reinforcing the foundations of food security and achieving self-sufficiency, and in line with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, Minister of Municipality H E Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, held a meeting yesterday with a number of Qatari farm owners.

The meeting discussed ways to develop the national agricultural sector, reviewed the challenges faced by farmers, and explored means of overcoming them in a way that contributes to increasing local production of agricultural crops and improving the quality of national products.

During the meeting, the Minister affirmed that the Ministry of Municipality attaches exceptional importance to the agricultural sector as a key pillar of sustainable development. He pointed out that the Ministry is working to create an integrated and supportive agricultural ecosystem by developing farm infrastructure, providing technical and advisory support, and encouraging the adoption of the latest smart agricultural technologies that improve production efficiency and ensure long-term food security.

Al Attiyah emphasised that the Ministry is keen to empower Qatari farmers and enhance their role as active partners in the national food security system, asserting that Qatari farms represent a model to follow in adopting modern, sustainable agricultural practices that contribute to achieving self-sufficiency and supporting the national economy.

This meeting comes as part of a series of regular sessions held by the Ministry of Municipality with its partners in the food security system.
