Head Of Environmental Inspection Department Of Prydniprovskyi District Exposed For Illegal Enrichment
Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Prosecutor General's Office, investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation exposed the head of the Department of the State Environmental Inspection of the Prydniprovskyi District (covering Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions) for illegal enrichment.
The investigation found that the official, being a person authorized to perform state functions, had acquired unjustified assets worth over UAH 50 million. Among them were an apartment of more than 100 square meters in a premium residential complex and a BMW 520i car.
To conceal the illegal origin of the property, ownership was registered in the name of a relative.
During a court-authorized search at the suspect's residence, $880,000, EUR 210,000 (a total of over UAH 46 million), and other valuables were found and seized.
The official was detained and charged under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal enrichment).
The court imposed pretrial detention with the option of bail set at UAH 30 million.
