Jordan, Syria, And Turkey Hold Trilateral Technical Meeting To Boost Land, Railway Transport Cooperation

Amman, Oct. 30 (Petra)-- A trilateral technical meeting between Jordan, Syria, and Turkey was held to enhance cooperation in the fields of land and railway transport, on the sidelines of the joint Jordanian-Syrian technical committee meetings on land transport convened in Damascus.
The meeting was attended by Secretary-General of the Ministry of Transport, Fares Abu Dayyeh, and his accompanying delegation; Syria's Assistant Minister of Transport for Land Transport Affairs, Mohammad Omar Rahhal; and Director General for Foreign Affairs at the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Burak Ekan.
According to a statement issued by the ministry today, the meeting comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional cooperation and develop transport networks among the three countries.
The Jordanian and Syrian sides took part in the meeting from Damascus, while the Turkish side joined remotely. Discussions focused on ways to advance cooperation in land and railway transport, in order to facilitate the movement of passengers and goods and boost inter-regional trade among the three countries.
The trilateral meeting emphasized the importance of broadening cooperation and simplifying transport procedures to improve supply chains and facilitate trade exchange, thereby supporting economic stability and reflecting the deep ties that connect Jordan, Syria, and Turkey.
This meeting builds upon ongoing efforts to promote integration in the transport sector and develop shared infrastructure, in support of economic and trade development across the region.
