Over 5,200 Posts Vacant In J & K Health Deptt: Govt

Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday revealed that more than 5,200 posts of doctors and paramedics are lying vacant across health institutions in the Union Territory.

In response to a question raised by MLA Mir Mohammad Fayaz, the data reveals 1,635 gazetted and 3,616 non-gazetted posts are vacant in the Health and Medical Education Department across the Jammu and Kashmir.

The Minister Incharge said that 197 gazetted and 772 non-gazetted posts have been referred to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and the Services Selection Board (JKSSB) during the last two years.
