Trump Says His MRI Results “Perfect”
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump confirmed Monday that he underwent a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan during a recent hospital stay, but did not reveal the reason doctors ordered the test.
"I did. I got an MRI. It was perfect," Trump, 79, told reporters when asked what was being examined, adding that journalists could "ask the doctors."
"The doctors said some of the best, for the age, some of the best reports they've ever seen," he added.
According to a summary of Trump's Oct. 10 visit, the president received "advanced imaging" at Walter Reed, described as "part of his ongoing health maintenance plan." The type of imaging performed has not been disclosed, and the White House has provided no further explanation.
"Comprehensive laboratory studies performed in conjunction with the visit were exceptional, including stable metabolic, hematologic, and cardiac parameters," Sean Barbarbella, Trump's physician, wrote in the White House-released summary of the hospital visit.
The October visit occurred just six months after Trump’s annual physical in April. Observers had raised questions after noticing bruising on the back of the president’s hand, which he repeatedly attempted to conceal with makeup, sparking renewed speculation about his health.
Reporters also noted swelling in his legs, which was attributed to chronic venous insufficiency, a condition in which the valves in the leg veins fail to effectively pump blood back to the heart.
The White House has not explained why Trump returned to the hospital for a second visit this year. Receiving multiple physical exams annually is highly unusual for a sitting president, but Trump is among the oldest to hold the office.
