Areas affected by the Yellow Alert:
Chiriquí: Highlands, Renaissance and Barú.
Veraguas: Las Palmas, Cañazas, La Mesa, Soná, Atalaya, Rio de Jesus and Mariato.
Ngäbe Buglé Region: Ñurum.
Los Santos: Tonosí.
Herrera: The Mines.
A Green Alert has also been activated for the provinces of Panama, West Panama, Colón, Darién, northern Veraguas, eastern Chiriquí, and Bocas del Toro. The southern areas of Tonosí, southern Veraguas, southern Barú in Chiriquí, and the Guna Yala region are under surveillance.
Situation in the Affected Areas
More than 140 homes affected by flooding in Los Santos. Heavy rains over the weekend in Los Santos province caused rivers to overflow and affected more than 140 homes in the districts of Macaracas and Tonosí. Several areas were flooded, and some families reported material losses.
