Ministry Orders One-Month Closure Of Sharmax For 'False Advertising'

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced administrative closure of Sharmax company due to false or misleading advertising that could deceive consumers.

The company - a global manufacturer of motorcycles and powersports vehicles - was penalised with one month administrative closure.

The Ministry stated that it described and advertised a product in a false or misleading manner, violating Article 7 of Law No 8 of 2008 regarding Consumer Protection.

The Ministry has in the recent months intensified inspection and awareness campaigns to ensure that shops and establishments adhere to its laws, upholding quality, fairness, and consumer protection in the Qatari market.

The public have been urged to report complaints or violations by contacting the hotline at 16001, visiting the official website, or using the MoCI application.
