Galatasaray Edges Bodo/Glimt in UEFA Champions League Encounter

(MENAFN) Galatasaray delivered a commanding 3-1 triumph over Norway’s Bodo/Glimt in a high-stakes UEFA Champions League encounter Wednesday at Rams Park.

From the outset, the home side set a blistering pace, capitalizing early when Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen netted in the third minute following intense pressure. Galatasaray sustained their offensive momentum, unleashing a series of threatening attempts on goal.

Their persistence paid off in the 33rd minute after a costly error from Bodo/Glimt defender Fredrik Andre Bjorkan, whose misplaced back pass was swiftly intercepted. Osimhen seized the opportunity, doubling the lead with his second strike of the match. The first half closed with Galatasaray firmly ahead, 2-0.

The second half intensified as the Norwegian squad pushed forward, creating more chances than in the opening period. Yet it was Galatasaray who extended their lead in the 60th minute. Pressing defender Haitam Aleesami into a turnover, Osimhen sparked a rapid counterattack culminating in Yunus Akgun’s goal, making it 3-0.

Bodo/Glimt fought back in the 76th minute when Helmersen found the net, narrowing the gap to 3-1. Despite mounting pressure in the closing stages, Galatasaray maintained composure and secured a vital victory.

With this win, Galatasaray climbed to six points from three group stage matches, while Bodo/Glimt remain on two points.
