Trump Dismisses Ukraine Missile Approval Claims as “Fake News”

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump on Wednesday vehemently dismissed a Wall Street Journal report alleging that the United States had authorized Ukraine to deploy long-range missiles for deep strikes inside Russian territory.

Addressing the claims on his Truth Social platform, Trump declared, "The Wall Street Journal story on the U.S.A.’s approval of Ukraine being allowed to use long-range missiles deep into Russia is fake news!"

He further emphasized, "The US has nothing to do with those missiles, wherever they may come from, or what Ukraine does with them!"

The statement follows the Wall Street Journal article citing US officials, which revealed that the Trump administration had lifted restrictions on Ukraine’s deployment of certain long-range missiles supplied by Western partners.

Officials quoted in the report anticipate an increase in Ukraine’s cross-border attacks utilizing British-made Storm Shadow missiles—weaponry that the US can regulate due to its reliance on American targeting data.
