GHAZNI (Pajhwok): A building for a health centre has been constructed through people's donations in the Qarabagh district of southern Ghazni province and formally handed over for public use, an official said on Monday.

Dr. Rasool Khan Nazari, Ghazni's public health director, welcomed the initiative, saying community efforts help solve local issues and boost public trust in the government.

“We are committed to providing the necessary support in equipping this clinic,” he said.

According to Nazari, the health centre is located in the Qala-e-Yaqoob area of Qarabagh and has been built on one jerib of land at a cost of nearly six million afghanis. The single-storey structure is made with durable materials and includes a hall, 10 rooms, bathrooms, and other necessary facilities.

Nazari added that the clinic offers health services in eight different departments.

Mohammad Hashim Qiyam, member of the Qala-e-Yaqoob People's Council, said the project was launched in response to urgent community needs.

“There were serious health issues, especially for women patients, so this facility was constructed to ease public suffering,” he said.

He added that the total cost of the building-over six million afghanis-was covered by local residents and Afghan donors living abroad.
