SHANGHAI, Oct. 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2025 World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) General Assembly took place in Shanghai from October 12 to 17, hosted by the WFEO, with Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) serving as a co-organizer and key industry partner. The conference consisted of three main segments: the WFEO General Assembly, the Global Engineering Congress, and the Engineering Capacity Workshops. Among the seven themed workshops, one was dedicated to advanced marine engineering and heavy equipment innovation.

On October 16, participants of the 2025 WFEO General Assembly visited ZPMC's Changxing Shipyard to join the "Blue Ocean Workshop: Changxing Marine Equipment Exploration Tour." The visit gave attendees a closer look at ZPMC's shipbuilding capabilities and marine engineering technologies, highlighting the company's ongoing commitment to industrial innovation and precision manufacturing.

The group toured the Production and Operation Command Center and the Digital Exhibition Hall at the Changxing facility, where they were briefed on the company's growth trajectory, engineering milestones, and technology leadership. They engaged in technical discussions on integrated automation systems for marine terminals, high-strength structural materials, and autonomous cargo handling solutions. From the 29th-floor observation platform and at the Berth 0 Offshore Engineering Terminal-known as the "Quay Crane Showcase"-visitors observed firsthand the evolution of ZPMC's port machinery from traditional mechanical cranes to next-generation intelligent systems, and how the company continues to deliver reliable, high-performance equipment to customers worldwide.

WFEO is the world's largest and only non-governmental organization representing the full spectrum of engineering disciplines and professions worldwide. The WFEO General Assembly, held every two years, is themed this year "Engineering Shapes a Sustainable Future." The Engineering Capacity Workshops are designed to draw upon the expertise of Shanghai's leading engineers and industrial innovators, offering seminars, collaborative sessions, and hands-on demonstrations of advanced technologies. The initiative aims to enhance international cooperation, support global infrastructure development under the Belt and Road framework, and promote mutual recognition of professional engineering standards worldwide.

During the visit, ZPMC also organized a media open day under the theme "Building Connections: An Exploration Journey." Reporters from national and trade media outlets attended the event for on-site coverage and interviews, highlighting ZPMC's role as a global manufacturer shaping the next generation of marine and heavy construction equipment.
