PUCSL Decides Not To Increase Electricity Tariffs
Sri Lanka's power regulator, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), has decided not to increase the existing electricity tariffs.
PUCSL Chairman, Prof. K. P. L. Chandralal, said that the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) had requested a 6.8% increase in the electricity tariffs.
However, he said the PUCSL had decided not to increase the tariffs but to maintain stability in the price.
The decision was reached following consultations with the public and various stakeholders.
