President Zelensky Revokes Citizenship Of Three Ukrainians Linked To Russia

Earlier today, following a meeting with SSU chief Vasyl Maliuk, Zelensky announced that“the presence of Russian citizenship among certain individuals has been confirmed - the corresponding decisions have been prepared.”

“I have signed the decree,” the President said.

According to the source, those affected by the decision are Trukhanov, Tsariov, and Polunin.

As reported by Ukrinform, a petition titled On the Termination of Ukrainian Citizenship of Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov gained more than 25,000 signatures on the President's website. The document cites multiple media investigations alleging that Trukhanov holds a Russian passport and tax number, suggesting dual citizenship, which is prohibited by Ukraine's Constitution.

Tsariov has been convicted in Ukraine and sentenced to 12 years in prison for encroaching on the country's territorial integrity.

Serhii Polunin, a Kherson-born dancer, has openly supported Russian leader Vladimir Putin, calling him a“great leader” and endorsing Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
