Ukraine Remains Top Priority For Bucharest And NATO Allies - Romanian Defense Ministry

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) This was stated by Romanian Defense Minister Liviu-Ionuț Moșteanu before the start of the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Defense in Brussels , according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

"Let's not forget we are not in the war, and Ukraine is in the war. Ukraine is number one priority for us. We have to support them. We supported that, we have supported them from day one. We'll continue to do that. We are working together. They have to win this war," Moșteanu stated.

The Romanian minister stressed that the Black Sea must be a sea of peace and that allies are obliged to ensure stability in the region.

According to him, Romania feels the support of its NATO partners as a country on the eastern flank. About 5,000 troops from the U.S., France, Portugal, Spain, Poland, and Belgium are stationed in the country, while Germany conducts air patrols.

He also noted that Romania has already updated its legislation, which allows the destruction of any airborne objects that are in national airspace without permission. A new law on voluntary service has also been submitted to parliament for consideration, and the law on defense has been updated. In November, the Romanian President will present a new national defense strategy to parliament.
