(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DOHA, Oct 14 (KUNA) -- Qatar secured qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, after defeating the UAE 2-1 in the fourth round of the AFC playoff qualifiers.
With this result, Qatar tops Group A with four points, followed by the UAE with three and Oman with one.
Meanwhile, Group B features Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Indonesia, with matches held in Jeddah.
The group winners qualify directly to the World Cup, while the runners-up will contest a two-legged tie on November 13 and 18 for a place in the intercontinental playoff. (end)
