Zelensky: Russia's Overnight Strikes Aimed At Ukraine's Energy System Again

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated this on Facebook .

According to the President, during the night, Russia's aerial terror against cities and infrastructure continued, with energy facilities as the main targets.

“Ninety-six attack drones were launched, most were shot down, though unfortunately not all,” Zelensky emphasized.

Last night, Russian forces bombed a hospital in Kharkiv with aerial bombs, injuring 57 people.

“An utterly terrorist, cynical attack on a place where lives are saved,” the President said, adding:“Energy infrastructure in the region was also hit. In Kirovohrad region, civilian infrastructure was damaged, including railway facilities in two local settlements. In Sumy region, there were strikes on energy facilities and an enterprise. Donetsk region was also attacked. Wherever needed, the relevant services are working, and recovery efforts continue. I thank everyone involved.”

Zelensky stressed:“Every day and every night, Russia strikes power plants and transmission lines, our gas facilities also come under attack. The world can deprive Moscow of the ability to carry out such brutal attacks against life. Our partners know what is needed for this: Patriot, NASAMS, SAMP/T, and other vital systems.”

Ukraine counts on the actions of the U.S., Europe, the G7, and all partners who possess and can provide these systems for protection.

“Ukraine needs sufficient air defense capabilities to shield its skies from missiles, drones, and glide bombs so that Russia's aerial terror becomes meaningless. The world must compel Moscow to come to the table for genuine negotiations. Only peace through strength can bring result,” Zelensky emphasized, expressing gratitude to all who assist Ukraine.
