Türkiye Pledges Unwavering Support for Syria’s Security
(MENAFN) Syria’s security is intrinsically linked to Türkiye’s stability, declared Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Sunday, pledging Ankara’s continued full backing for the Syrian people.
“We do not see Syria’s security as separate from Türkiye's. We will continue to provide all kinds of support to our Syrian brothers on this path,” Fidan stated after a pivotal meeting in Ankara. The gathering included National Defense Minister Yasar Guler, National Intelligence Organization chief Ibrahim Kalin, alongside Syrian officials: Foreign Minister Hassan al-Shaibani, Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra, and intelligence chief Hussein al-Salame.
During this high-level security cooperation session in the Turkish capital, both sides committed to enhancing their collaboration to safeguard Syria’s achievements, Fidan noted on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.
“We have agreed with our Syrian brothers to strengthen our close coordination and cooperation to preserve and advance Syria’s gains,” he emphasized.
Fidan underscored that the Ankara talks thoroughly explored the strategic scope of bilateral ties. Discussions also focused on coordinated measures to secure Syria’s safety and uphold its territorial integrity through detailed, actionable plans.
Highlighting the Syrian administration’s strong determination to overcome current challenges, Fidan remarked that comprehensive engagement with Syria persists across all levels since the Syrian people reclaimed their freedom late last year.
