China, Saudi Arabia Set to Conduct Blue Sword 2025 Naval Drill

(MENAFN) A significant naval exercise between China and Saudi Arabia, named Blue Sword 2025, is set to take place in Saudi Arabian waters from mid to late October. This marks the third time the two nations’ navies will engage in such coordinated maritime drills, as confirmed by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s official English-language platform, China Military Online.

The upcoming exercise aims to enhance operational skills and tactical cooperation between the two naval forces, fostering deeper military collaboration. Senior Colonel Jiang Bin, spokesman for China’s Defense Ministry, emphasized the broader diplomatic and strategic significance of the event. “This joint training will promote the exchange of skills and tactics among the participating troops from both sides, as well as ‘deepen the friendship and cooperation between the two militaries,’” he said on Friday.

The exercise reflects growing military ties amid expanding geopolitical interests in the region, signaling increased strategic partnership between China and Saudi Arabia.
