Russian Strikes Damage Power Grids, Utilities In Kyiv And 11 Regions


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba reported on Facebook , according to Ukrinform.

“More than 450 drones and dozens of missiles struck facilities that sustain the country's daily life. Damage occurred in energy networks and municipal systems in Kyiv, Kyiv region, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Kirovohrad, and Kherson regions,” the statement said.

According to Kuleba, the primary targets of the massive Russian attack were energy facilities. The enemy's aim was disrupting infrastructure ahead of winter and depriving communities of electricity, heat, and water.

Currently, crews in the capital are working to restore electricity and water supply. In some regions, emergency power outage schedules are in effect. Energy workers, rescuers, and municipal services are working continuously.

Kuleba also reported that Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) continues to operate steadily, with morning departures mostly on schedule, including the first Kyiv–Bucharest train. Train traffic is maintained, with minimal delays.

As reported, overnight on October 10, Russian forces launched a massive drone and missile attack on Ukraine, targeting thermal power generation among other critical infrastructure.
