PFB Holds Vigil in London to Honor Palestinians Killed in Gaza
(MENAFN) A solemn vigil took place Wednesday outside the UK Prime Minister’s office in London to honor Palestinians killed since October 2023 amid relentless Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip, where fatalities have surpassed 67,000.
The event was organized by the Palestinian Forum in Britain (PFB), marking two years since the onset of Israel’s aggressive campaign against the Palestinian territory.
Carrying Palestinian flags, dozens of participants displayed signs bearing messages such as “Palestinians resist” and “Say no to ethnic cleansing.”
Candles were lit and arranged on the pavement alongside photographs of those killed by Israeli forces.
Attendees also held a minute of silence in remembrance of Gaza’s victims.
Despite ongoing indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas in Egypt since Monday, Israeli military operations continue unabated. These talks focus on a 20-point peace proposal introduced by U.S. President Donald Trump aimed at resolving the war.
The plan, revealed on September 29, calls for the release of Israeli hostages held in Gaza, a ceasefire, and the disarmament of Hamas. Hamas has agreed to the proposal in principle.
Since October 2023, nearly 67,200 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, have died in the Gaza Strip due to Israeli attacks, leaving the region devastated and largely uninhabitable.
